Approach & Posing
I take a relaxed, lifestyle approach, and tend to gravitate natural posing as opposed to classic newborn posing. I focus on capturing babe's personality and little details while they're still tiny. Please reach out if you'd like to see more examples of my posing style.
I let babe lead our session, exact timing is flexible and based entirely on babe's needs and mood, allowing time for feedings or breaks. I generally expect newborn sessions to take a little longer than the package time, depending on how babe is feeling.
Locations
In-home and the Des Moines Botanical Garden are the most popular locations for newborn photos. I like the Des Moines Botanical Garden because the temperature is baby-friendly year-round. Since I have a membership there, there are no additional fees you'd need to worry about. In the spring and fall, parks around central Iowa are great options. I also offer other indoor options at studios around the Des Moines metro - please inquire for recommendations and studio pricing.
